The ID & KYC FORUM in a nutshell
The ID & KYC Forum brings together economic players and policy makers around two key themes that structure our interactions with digital ecosystems: digital identity and KYC (Know Your Customer).
How to improve the efficiency and trust of our exchanges in digital spaces? How to bring better services to users whether they are citizens, actors or consumers? How, thanks to identity, can we respect freedom of choice within digital ecosystems? How to improve the quality of remote relationships in our society?
These are some of the questions we address in relation to the regulatory news: the unified European digital identity framework, the new anti-money laundering (AML) package, the evolutions of financial services, data protection, cybersecurity.
The ID & KYC Forum offers you the opportunity to participate in meetings and exchanges on topics that structure society and the digital economy in Europe and worldwide.
The ID & KYC Forum offers an annual event that promotes exchanges and meetings. Several public meetings or videoconferences are also organized during the year.

2025 THEME
The Digital Wallet: Europe prepares for takeoff!
The European Digital Identity Wallet is an initiative, established by the European digital identity regulation1, aimed at providing European Union citizens with a secure and convenient means to store and manage their identity information in various forms (data, documents, others) and to use them for transactions or digital services. It offers a harmonized and interoperable framework for digital identities across all EU member states.
It will enable online identification and authentication and make it easier to handle credentials or attestations such as a driver's license, a medical prescription, a professional certificate, or a transport ticket. Companies, especially banks and telecom operators, will benefit from reduced administrative work through the simplification of identity verification processes.
Since (May) 2023, four large-scale pilots involving 360 projects have been launched to test the EU Digital Identity Wallet. These projects, aimed at ensuring a secure and smooth deployment, will continue until 2025.
- How will European digital wallets impact electronic transactions and revolutionize access to digital services?
- How do existing transactional ecosystems, such as banking, postal, or telecom networks, which already utilize digital identification, plan to integrate or adapt to these new developments?
- How can European digital wallets contribute to reducing fraud and cyber threats and bolster consumer trust in online transactions?
- What are the technical challenges related to interoperability of the European digital identity wallet with national identification systems and online service platforms?
- What are the ethical and legal issues associated with managing personal data in European digital wallets?
- What insights have been gained from the various European pilots conducted so far?
